Conscious
While on my flight to Cali this past May, I read a magazine article about a company called Amour Vert ("Green Love" en francais). Amour Vert is committed to making great clothing with a design philosophy that promotes zero waste. Think non-toxic dyes, efficient use of fabric and carpooling fabrics with local businesses. On top of this, they pledge to plant a tree in North America for every Amour Vert T-shirt purchased. How impressive is that? After reading the article, I started thinking. What kind of carbon footprint am I leaving behind due to my fashion whims? After doing a little bit of research, I was pleasantly surprised at the number of brands that carry eco-friendly lines: asos the green room, Freedom of Animals, kowtow, Claire V., and H&M, just to name a few. So on my latest trip to H&M, I sought out the conscious line and picked up this fab bomber jacket. How luxe is this piece? One thing's for sure. One can be conscious without compromising style.
Do you have an eco-friendly line that you love? Please share! I'd love to learn more.
