Something Old, Something New
This post has nothing to do with a wedding, but everything to do with shopping from my closet. Of all the items I am wearing, only 20% of the outfit is new-ish. The main attraction, the dress, was purchased two winters ago. Goes to show that investing in the right item, even though this was a $50 dress, goes a long way. The simple and classic silhouette gives the dress staying power, withstanding the test of time and fleeting trends. However, this jewel tone is quite on trend for the Fall.
I always try to find ways to add a pop of color or prints to any outfit. Being that the dress is a pop of color in itself, adding a dose of print was the obvious choice. Tights season is among us, so I rifled through my drawers and picked out the herringbone pair. It added the right amount of print for the office. We are also in the midst of bootie season so I ditched my go-to pumps and slipped on these grey puppies.
