Little Black (Quilted) Dress Part. 1
The little black dress is a key staple that every working girl must have in her wardrobe. And in my case, it's the LBQD. First off, a dress takes the guess work out of putting an outfit together. No need to figure out which skirt or pant to pair with which top. With a dress, you are more than halfway there. The rest is just finishing touches. Over the next three Work It Wednesday posts, I will show you how I styled one dress three ways. All of which are totally appropriate for the office. Let's kick things off with a look that is perfect for those boardroom meetings. Each piece I selected has a classic silhouette, but with subtle details that give it a modern twist. Up first, a well fitted black blazer. I find that adding a blazer instantly gives an outfit a polished look. I'd say the same applies even when wearing jeans and a tee. I kept my jewelry simple, opting for a gold chain link necklace that pops against my all black ensemble. For presentations or senior level meetings, I steer away from eye catching jewelry, as it is likely to be a distraction. And definitely no jingling jewelry.
You already know my feelings about tights. So it should come as no surprise that I mixed in a slight hint of pattern with this pair. Capped everything off with my fave new black pumps. I am feeling #likeaboss.
p.s. It was 4 degrees out. At the risk of getting frost bitten fingers, hubs and I decided to take pics indoors. So here's a mini peak into a corner of our home!
