Last weekend, Sam (La Petite Pear) came all the way from the Big Apple to visit Beantown. Fact: Sam was my very first blogger friend I made almost two years ago when I started this lil ole blog. I love having out of town guests because it gives me the opportunity to be a tourist in my own city. Faneuil Hall, shopping in Back Bay and walking through the North End with a pit stop at Mike's Pastry (duh)! And this blogger get together would not be complete without a mini OOTD shoot. I'm sure our hubbies were thankful of the relief they got, even if it was one session. Once we shot our looks, it was off to meet a few of my fave Boston bloggers for brunch at Forum. So let's back track for a minute. As I was scanning my closet to put together a brunch-worthy outfit, I noticed a pattern. I have accumulated a startling amount of button down shirts. The funny thing is, when I first set out in my career over 12 years ago, I only wore them to work with skirts and dress pants (cringe!). But now, they come in many fabrics (cotton, linen, chambray), fits (slim, boyfriend) and prints (plaid, stripes, dots). The possibilities are endless and extend beyond the 9-5. So it should come as no surprise that the top half of my outfit was none other than a button down. No dress pants here! Went right for my vibrant green skinnies and camel booties (which were immediately swapped out for my Hunter rubbers...it was sprinkling!).
Are you obsessed with button-downs as much as I am?
Triband Pearl Ear Jacket: c/o JewelryStorm.
Polka Dot Oxford Shirt: Gap, $32.99 (sale). But I found this on super sale in-store for $16. I never really understood the price differential between online and in-store. But hey, the sale price is better than full price!
Green Skinnies: 7 For All Mankind from Lord & Taylor (old). Green jeans are hard to find! These INC skinnies will do, $17.99 (sale)!
Satchel: Rebecca Minkoff (small amorous satchel - black cherry). I purchased mine last winter during the Bloomie's F&F. Unfortunately, the black cherry is no longer available but there are other fun colors and prints to choose from (some on sale, too!).
Booties: Nine West (Jarrad) from Lord & Taylor, $41.99. It took me FOREVER to find the perfect pair of tan booties and I found these on a quick stroll through the shoe dept. It was fate! They are no longer available at L&T, but can still be purchased at 6PM.com, $65.99.
